Type Locality and Naming

Named after a small hill, Noen Po about 10 km south of Chanthaburi city where the type section is located. SE Thailand (Sukhothai Zone extension).. Lower formation in the Chanthaburi Gr.

Synonym: หมวดหินเนินโพธิ

Lithology and Thickness

Gray to dark grey mudstones and shales intercalated thin-bedded gray chert. Thickness: 48 m at Noen Po.

Sookpraiwan Fm (conformably) of Early Triassic through Anisian limestone.
